Initial Consultation

We understand what a big step it can be to reach out for help so we offer a free phone call to initially discuss your needs and our services. You can also contact us through our website form or through our social media platforms, to find out more please use the button below.

In our initial consultation, the client meets with one of our registered mental and health care professionals so that we can best determine your needs and explain our process and training and therapy modalities in full. This consultation typically lasts 50 minutes and is best done in person at our practice in Forest Hall, North Tyneside.

During this initial meeting, we explain the different therapies we use and answer any questions the client may have, we take this time with clients initially so they can make a fully informed decision that what we offer suits their needs. We believe that our organisation is the first of its kind in the UK to offer such therapy and training modalities together, we therefore understand it can take time for a client to become fully informed about this. For clients looking for further evidence based information or research we are more than happy to provide this.

We use a comprehensive and holistic assessment that looks at a wide range of mental and physiological health aspects, including your history and current lifestyle. This allows us to look at the person as a whole, including a full picture of symptoms and possible root causes so we can plan an individualised approach to your therapeutic service needs. We believe that one size does not fit all and looking at the person rather than just a list of symptoms enables us to support long term recovery.

Which therapies are for me?

Once we have fully considered your needs we will discuss with you a plan of therapy - often this can consist of one of more modalities such as Psychotherapy and Biofeedback, or Neurofeedback and Buteyko breathing. Once you have considered this, asked any questions and are happy to proceed, we will book you in with one of our trained therapists and/or practitioners - this normally can be within a couple of weeks unless we specify a waiting list. Certain times of the day are more popular with work and school hours so being as flexible as you can may allow you to be seen quicker. Appointments are normally kept to the same day and time each week (depending on which therapy and public holidays etc).

Regular check-ins are done alongside your sessions to monitor how you are doing and track any improvements and effects of therapy or training. If we feel we need to change or adapt sessions according to this, we will fully discuss this with you.

Other ways we can help

  • QEEG BRAIN MAPPING

A quantitative EEG is a brain map. This is an electrical measurement, analysis, and quantification of the brainwaves. The brainwaves are the brain’s verbing, or the action potentials of the brain.

  • Neurofeedback

This is a non-invasive treatment which works toward improving the root source of symptoms. It differs from medicine as it treats the issue at its core, not the symptoms that result.

  • Biofeedback

This is a pioneering process that can enable the control of bodily processes that are normally involuntary, such as muscle tension, blood pressure, or heart rate.

  • Buteyko breathing

Named after Dr Konstantin Buteyko, the Buteyko Method consists of a series of breathing exercises and guidelines specifically designed to reduce over-breathing (clinically known as ‘chronic hyperventilation’)

  • Therapy

Our highly skilled therapists provide a therapeutic approach that focuses on full recovery as opposed to a ‘temporary fix’. It is accessible for children, young people, and adults
